I’m interested in both Hermeticism and Christian Gnosticism because they explain me the world like none other worldview does. I don’t know if this is the place to make this post but I’m desperate to finally understand what this is and maybe some of you could help shed some light on this. If you or you know somebody who could help I would appreciate it so much and it would literally change my life. If ANY of you on here could help me with this, it would be life changing. This has caused me extreme distress and I would do anything to finally fix it. I started meditating about 5 years ago. I had done it before but not as deep as I was going. I don’t know if it was the technique or what but the method I was doing was training me to go longer and longer without a single thought. It was simply sit down, and feel your body. That was it. I’d like to ask for clarification on the Secret Hymn and to whom it was prayed by our dear Hermes. At first, I thought it was to the father, god, but then later on I realized there were mentions of craftsman, “one who created everything” making me assume now that it may be pointed towards the demiurge instead. I’ll skip the pageantry. Podcast host interested in talking to friends and being more peaceful. Connect with Inner Traditions a popular publisher of certain types of books. They connected me with David Pantano, author of The Magic Door and translator for The Hermetic Physician. I assumed, before reading, that Dave would be similar to other “popular” alleged Hermeticism “people” that I’ve encountered. I expected the same from this interaction. I’ve struggled with their showmanship and made up stuff that they add on top of what is said to come from Hermes Trismegistus. After the two episodes with this specific author especially the second one, I am starting to get a more to the point explanation of practicable modern day Hermeticism. I THINK But then applying any level of introspection or meditation to the situation, I realized how easily I had been duped in the past.
